Croatia Regatta 2012

Dubrovnik

ITC Sports is delighted to announce the launch of the inaugural Dubrovnik Regatta, in conjunction with pursuit racing experts, Adriatic International Regattas

As new ventures go, we are very much in unchartered waters here. Accustomed as we are to land-based group travel for the likes of cricket, horse racing and rugby, arranging competitive racing is a brand new experience for us, which is why we have teamed up with AIR. Between them, John Grandy and Peter Wykeham-Martin (collectively known as GWM Racing), have a wealth of experience and knowledge in regatta management. Michael Bird has been connected with Croatia for many years and currently manages Dalmatian Destinations, specialising in boat charters. Brian Earley of Earley International is a qualified yacht master and has been organising sailing groups to prestigious sailing events to sailing events for 20 years.

Working with the Orsan Yacht Club in Dubrovnik, the sailing will be spread out over three days, two of which will be practice and on the third all teams will go head to head for the prestigious Adriatic International Regatta Cup. On-shore functions include welcome drinks and a fabulous gala dinner on the final evening.

Boat owners may bring their own vessels, charter one for the week (with or without a skipper) or we can also take individuals and create teams based on skills and experience. Not only will the weekend attract keen sailors, we are also expecting a large amount of corporate entries – the weekend will be the perfect opportunity to take key staff on a unique team-building exercise or reward top performers.

Our teams will stay at the magnificent Palace Hotel, part of the Adriatic Luxury Hotels collection, which looks out directly over the Adriatic Sea and offers its clients a truly luxury experience. Now all that remains is that we order some healthy prevailing winds and look forward to taking many bookings! The sight of up to 200 boats competing would be one to behold.
