The purpose-built 'City of the Americas' circuit is set in 1000 acres of prime land in the Southeast of Travis County, with scenic views of downtown Austin.

Designed to test the drivers to the limit but also with the potential 120,000 fans in mind, the track boasts elevataion changes of 133 feet around the 3.4-mile track. Some fo the corner sections are inspired by the very best circuits in the world, with the aim of creating a spectacular race.

Self-promoted as 'The Live Music Capital of the World', the city is a hive of music venues, official and impromptu, incuding the long-running concert series, Austin City Limits. It is also known as the City of the 'Violet Crown', after the glow of colour which can be seen across its nearby hills just after sunsets in wintertime.
