South Africa v England

Package Details

14-25 JUNE 2012

We are thrilled to be returning to South Africa for England’s Test Match tour. They are sure to be tested to the limit on the pitch and it will be interesting to see how this emerging side cope with what the Springboks throw at them.

During our tour, you will have the opportunity to visit Johannesburg and Cape Town, plus we will venture on Safari before the third Test Match in Port Elizabeth.

Full hospitality has been arranged for both the second (Johannesburg) and third (Port Elizabeth) Test Matches of England’s tour and as is customary, you will be fully escorted by a dedicated tour manager and celebrity rugby host. Please find below our full itinerary:

14 June
Depart the UK on your chosen overnight flight to Johannesburg.

15 June
On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Da Vinci Hotel for two nights’ accommodation on a bed & breakfast basis. The remainder of the morning is at leisure.

In the afternoon, our group will be met by a guide for a half day City Tour of Soweto including a visit to the Hector Pieterson Memorial, Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital (the largest in Africa), and various community development projects. Lunch is included at Chez Alina Restaurant.

16 June
After a morning at leisure, we will meet for a pre match lunch and then transfer to the Coca Cola Stadium for the Second Test Match where hospitality tickets have been reserved. Following the match, we will return to the hotel.

17 June
After breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer to the airport to board our flight to Cape Town, where on arrival, we will be met and transferred to the Commodore Hotel located on the Waterfront with excellent views of Table Mountain. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore Cape Town’s waterfront area.

18 June
Today, we depart with a guide for a full day tour exploring the Cape wine region. Our journey will take us through the breathtaking scenery and the historic towns of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl and will include wine and sparkling wine tasting. Lunch will be taken at the stunning La Petite Ferme in Franschhoek before returning to Cape Town where the evening is at leisure.

19 June
After breakfast, we will be met by a guide for a full day Cape Peninsula Tour, beginning by travelling along the Atlantic Seaboard past Clifton to Hout Bay and experiencing a cruise past the seals on Seal Island, continuing over Chapman’s Peak to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before paying a visit to the penguins on Boulders Beach and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Your evening is once again at leisure once we return to Cape Town.

20 June
After breakfast, we will be transferred to the airport to board our flight to Port Elizabeth. On arrival, we will be met and transferred to Kuzuko Lodge situated in the Karoo region, where we will enjoy a late lunch on arrival. We will then have an early evening game drive and return for a Welcome Dinner at the Lodge.
